UpLead pricing: how plans and credits are structured, and how to work out what a usable contact costs

UpLead pricing without the sales pitch: how plans and credits work, what verification settings change and a simple way to find your cost per usable contact.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-29

Quick answerUpLead sells credits on monthly or annual plans, and one credit unlocks one contact. The plan price is not the whole cost, because verification settings, bounces, unmatched rows and expiring credits change what each usable contact costs. This guide shows the structure and a simple formula. Amounts stay on the vendor's live pricing page.
UpLead is likely to fit when

✓ Founders and first sales hires who need a list of named buyers with emails checked at download

✓ Small teams that can plan a monthly contact volume and want published tiers

✓ Buyers who want to choose which email types they are charged for

✓ Teams that will test one small batch before committing to a plan

Important limitations

— Teams that only need a handful of contacts, where a free plan may be enough

— Large teams that need one platform with intent, engagement and conversation tools

— Buyers who cannot accept credits expiring at the end of a term

— Anyone who needs an email sending tool rather than contact data

UpLead pricing: the bill follows credits

UpLead's pricing page shows four tiers: a seven-day free trial, then Essentials, Plus and Professional. It has a monthly view and an annual view, and each paid tier lists a credit allowance for the period. Essentials and Plus are single-user accounts. Professional is annual only, with seats and credits set in a conversation with sales.

This guide leaves the amounts to that page, because they differ by view and can change. It was read on October 29, 2026, together with the help center and terms. The number to bring is how many contacts you will unlock in a busy month.

What moves the price of a credit

  • Extra credits: the pricing page says you can buy more if you run out, and that each plan carries its own price per credit. The help center says higher tiers get a better per-credit price.
  • How you buy: the help center lists preset credit blocks and a custom amount, and a daily purchase cap that fails larger orders.
  • Billing period: the help center says annual plans carry a discounted rate. Under the terms, canceling an annual plan needs 60 days of notice before renewal.
  • Expiry: the terms say credits do not roll over into the next subscription term.
  • Changing plans: an upgrade takes effect at once and is charged in full, while a downgrade starts at the next renewal with no prorated refund, according to the terms.

From credits to cost per usable contact

A credit buys one contact, but a usable contact needs a valid email, the right job title and a person you are allowed to email. A simple formula works for any tool: cost per usable contact equals what you pay for the credits you used, divided by the contacts that passed all three tests.

Here is an illustration, not a measured result. Suppose that out of every 10 contacts you unlock, 9 have a valid email and 7 are still in the role you wanted. One credit then buys 0.7 of a usable contact, so each usable contact costs about 1.4 times the price of a credit. If your own share is 5 in 10, it costs twice as much. Test a small batch, count the usable ones and use your own ratio before you size a plan.

Hidden costs and settings that cut waste

  • Download setting: Valid Only charges credits for valid emails only. Valid and Accept All also charges accept-all emails, and All Available Emails charges every record, including invalid ones.
  • Exclusions: upload a list of emails, phone numbers or company URLs so contacts you already hold do not appear in results. The pricing page lists suppression list uploads under Plus.
  • Re-downloads: a contact you already unlocked can be exported again from Downloads for no credit.
  • Enrichment: credits come off up front for each row, and a credit returns for a row with no match.
  • Bounces: the home page promises refunds for bounces and poor data. Ask support in writing how a refund is requested and how long you have to ask.

Features by tier, and one conflict to resolve

The pricing page lists enrichment, email pattern intel, technographics, advanced filters and suppression list uploads from Plus upward. It lists API access, bi-directional CRM sync, team management and a success manager under Professional.

Buyer intent data is where UpLead's pages disagree. The pricing page places it under Professional, while UpLead's own ZoomInfo comparison page says Plus and Professional. If intent data matters to your plan choice, get the answer in writing before you pay.

Questions to ask before you pay

  • Will the free trial bill automatically? The help center says an account not canceled by day 7 is billed for the Essentials annual plan.
  • What is the cancel-by date for the plan I picked, and what happens to unused credits on that date?
  • How are credits refunded for a bounced email, and is there a time limit?
  • Which plan includes buyer intent data, and does it use extra credits?
  • See UpLead vs ZoomInfo for the quote-based alternative and how to build a B2B prospect list for a worked list plan.
